Here it is, the third quotation of the 3-Day Quote Challenge:
Man always thinks about the past before he dies, as if he were frantically searching for proof that he truly lived.
Jet Black (Cowboy Bebop)
They say that your life flashes before your eyes as you approach death, and it is a similar phenomenon that Jet describes.
In the context that this statement is made, in conversation with Spike Speigel, Jet tells the story of a man who feels regret because he wasn’t able to reach his destination before he dies. As the man awaits death, he sees Mount Kilamanjaro, where he was headed.
I love the way that Jet’s words bring an added dimension to his tough persona, and reveal his contemplative side.

Love this one. I also liked Spike’s “Whatever happens, happens.” Such a pacifier for anxieties.
